A little prep makes install day go smoothly:
Clear the windows. Move any large or heavy furniture that’s blocking the windows — beds, dressers, anything we’d have to work around. Small stuff and light items we can handle and work around, no problem.
Someone needs to be home, or access arranged ahead of time.
Secure pets so they’re comfortable and out of the work area.
Mind nap time. Install isn’t loud, but there’s some drilling — if you’ve got little ones on a schedule, plan around it or give us a heads up.
Plan for a window of time. Give yourself a couple hours of flexibility around the appointment, or set up access if you can’t be there the whole time.
Disarm alarms if you’ve got a security system that’ll trip while we work.
Confirm placement preferences. Think about whether you want blinds mounted on the surface (outside the window opening) or inset (inside it) — and if inset, whether you’d like them flush to the outer edge, close to the glass, or centered in the opening. We’ll talk it through, but it helps to have a sense going in.
If you bought your own blinds, make sure they’re on-site, unboxed, and you’ve got all the hardware before we arrive — it saves a wasted trip.
Old blinds? We can remove and dispose of existing window coverings for a small charge — just let us know in advance.
That’s it. We bring the tools, lay down drop cloths to protect your floors, clean up after ourselves, and walk through everything with you when we’re done.
